05 RL + 19" M5 Wheels & A-Spec Suspension

Here are a couple crappy pics just so you guys get an idea of how it looks. As soon as I can borrow my bro's DSLR I will have a few good ones. I wish it was a little lower and not quite so stiff. Im actually considering going to stock shocks and H&R springs since the A-Spec dampers are VERY sport tuned (dang I feel old already bitching about how stiff the car is at 24 haha)

OEMWheelsPlus M5 knock offs
Running the fronts all around 19x8.5
245/40/19 Kumho LX Platinum

They were around $600 because I picked them up directly from the OEMWheelsPlus office.

The tint is 30% on the rear windows and 50% on the front.

I know that they are heavier then the OEM 17's that come on the car but I really did not care. The car weighs 4000lbs as it is so 20lbs here and there isn’t going to hurt. I am not using any hub centric rings since the ones I bought did not fit tight even though they were made for the application. There are no vibrations and the car handles pretty well considering I'm using 60k mile touring tires. I drive 35k+ miles a year so that’s a requirement.

Size: 19x8.5 all around
Bolt Pattern: 5x120
Offset: 40

The tires have the same width as stock and the wheels are 1/2" wider so they are basically the same from behind.

Looks nice! I just got my A-spec suspension in yesterday, and I don't feel that it is too stiff. Probably has to do with that I'm still running on stock 17"s. I want to go 19"s, but I am afraid of the stiffness that I might get from them.

I am running 19's on my A Spec, going from PAX 460 mm wheels (18 inch equivalent). The ride is noticeably different, stiffer, not as stiff as say a Civic Si, but definitely stiffer and more bouncy in the rear for those passengers, but not overly so. I think it is fine, especially for the improvement in handling. I think they should have had A-Spec as stock, but I realize that it may be too stiff for the target crowd who can spend $50K on a car, and tend to be older.

My wife thinks I have ruined the car for the rear passengers who are closer to the axle, but even she can appreciate the difference in the handling, and the loss of 92 lbs of unsprung weight after ditching the PAX tires. There is a more instant responsiveness that was not there with the PAX tires.

Yup same deal here... At least the extra handling is worth it.

whats up dopes, thanks for the aspec wheels. seen his car in person and it is super nice.

but yes some days i get tired of the bounciness of the aspec suspension. i am actually thinking of putting the stock shocks back on with the aspec springs. anyone tried this combo?

Most of the stiffness on the a-spec setup comes from the dampers so that should smooth the ride out quite a bit. The problem is that the stock shocks definatly wont last as long as they would on stock springs.

Just going to keep driving it and fixing all the dumb issues that pop up lol. At this point I dont have any other mods planned except the ATLP True-Dual setup that has been in the works for a while now.

hmm, i know you are mechanically inclined. how hard would it be to swap out shocks. I would be willing to test on my ride if you help me swap it. and Ill get you lunch??

Unfortunately I don't have a spring compressor otherwise it would not be a problem. It's not too hard but the rear seat does have to come out.

did the wheels bolt up really well just like OEM stock wheels..or did you have to customize anythign tomaket hem fit? those wheels actually look reallly good on your RL... there are NOT that many wheels to choose from, and mostdon't look that great on our cars... those look nice.

any idea how much they weigh vs. stock?
did you consider Ronjons wheels..he has some nice ones too!
