XM reception issues? Antenna problem?

Does anyone have spotty problems with XM reception?

Seems if I so much as drive by a tree with no leaves I drop the reception for a second. Ok, not quite that extreme but it definitely drops in places where the Audiovox in my Pilot doesn't drop at all. My 05 RL seems to drop signal twice as often as the Audiovox. I would think the rooftop XM antenna on the RL would be better.

What would cause this? Bad antenna? Can this be easily replaced or is it a pain?

thanks!

I have the same "No Signal" experience at the same spots on my way home. It's an area with some pretty dense trees and with the spring growth of leaves, the loss of signal is much more pronounced. Don't think it's an antenna problem, just seems like dead spots.

I think in my case this must be some kind of an antenna problem. Drives me crazy sometimes, it's happening quite a bit. I did some looking around and couldn't find any replacements for the OEM, even another OEM if I had to.

I'm still running the original NAV version, would an upgrade to the NAV system also include any kind software upgrade for the way XM handles reception?
