I have been having the normal info delay problems with the XM display. The last two days (Monday and Tuesday) when I started the car, XM began on the preview channel. I would just turn to another channel and I would resume getting regular XM.

Today, I turn on XM and get the preview channel. However, when I tried to tune to one of my pre-sets, it would just go right back to the preview channel. I pull over and shut the car off, wait 2 minutes and restart. Same thing, only get the preview channel and some emergency channel. I shut off again and restart again - same thing.

So I call XM and they say the radio has never been activated. I said the radio has been working since November 30 when I got the car. He said they would have to activate the radio. He activated the radio and gave me 3 free months (which would be when the free year runs out anyway) so nowXM works again. Delay still there and pre-set label problem (but that is a story for another thread).

Now I am not getting the NavTraffic icons (we only get icons in Orlando - no traffic flow). Do I have to call XM again to have this re-started? I thought it was automatic with the XM subscription.

Yes, you will need to call XM and have them activate Navtraffic. It is not automatically activated with the XM Radio subscription.

 

Thanks gizmowizard, I guess the dealership had activated my radio and for some reason the subscription had cancelled; XM renewed the free subscription through the end of November which is one year from the date I got the car and also reinstated the Nav Traffic for one year from today for free. So alls well ends well, except for the delay.
