XM Nav Traffic

Hey need some quick help. I just bought my 05 RL and got XM hooked up with the Nav Traffic. However I don't think it is working properly?

Can someone please tell me how I can figure out if it is working or not? I already went into the nav setup to make sure it was displaying the traffic icons and also made sure my range was in the "traffic zone".

Thanks for the help in advance.

What city are you in? If you are in a city with coverage you can usually say "Find Nearest Traffic Accidents" or something like that, and you will see little accident icons along highways.

Make sure that you zoom range is within the traffic bar along the bottom of the map. Say, "Display Traffic List" for a text display of incidents within 30 miles. If it returns, "There are no incidents within 30 miles" then it is enabled and working but XM is not transmitting the info. If your city is covered then the widest zoom within the traffic bar would show incidents in yellow and construction in orange. I think the XM site can be searched for available cities.

From the map screen, rotate the dial to ensure you're within the "traffic" brackets on the zoom levels (if these don't show, it's not enabled) and then ensure you've got the machine set to display traffic by either of two ways:

--use the voice command, "Display Traffic"

--use the menu to activate "icons" and turn on the traffic icons.
