XM Loading

Last night, on way home Navtraffic was not working. Switched radio to XM and display showed "XM Loading" with no sound no matter what channel. Stayed that way for over 30 minutes (approx 6:30 PM PST). Stopped at store and when I restarted car, everything back to normal. Think that an XM issue or car issue?

OK - happened to me again this morning. 2 times in 2 weeks. I had no XM for 30 minutes. Stopped to get gas and when I restarted, XM back on. Does not sound like a weak signal.

no-one is helping me out on this, but as an update, it happened last night again. That's once a week for 3 weeks in a row. Seems very odd. Each time it stays in "XM Loading" mode for 30 minutes. Then, if I turn the car off for 10 minutes or so, it is back to normal. Tried turning car off/on at traffic light, but apparently was not enough time for system to reset.
Guess I need to get it into dealer.

Getakey, it may be your XM receiver / antenna. A few people have had it replaced. If not, it seems XM and Acuralink are running some tests or updates as various messages via Acuralink are also appearing. But it seems no one else is reporting multiple 'black outs' and for the duration you report. Have the XM antenna checked.

thanks Tampa. I've got a long trip planned over the holidays and don't want to be without XM (and traffic).

Based on my recent experience it also could be an XM account issue (as I recently experienced). My service reset (turned off) on my anniversary date, even though I had a valid credit card and confirmed three times that it would automatically renew (bill my credit card).

Good luck trying to get XM to help fix it though...

not an account issue - its an intermitent problem. It stops working about once a week, but works again the next time I start the car.

update - happened again last night. That is exactly once a week for 4 straight weeks - all but once at night. Very same symptoms. On way home from work (45 minute drive), XM was out the entire way. Stopped at the store for 15 minutes and then XM back on as I restarted car. I think it has happened on a Wednesday night each week (excpet for the one morning), although not sure. Will start tracking more precisely. Seems very odd that it would be exactly once per week if the receiver was starting to fail.

You may want to try refreshing the signal or as TampaRL indicated, you have a hardware issue. I had to have my radio replaced several months back for a similar problem.

It started happening to me the same way in my 2006 MDX...not an XM issue.....has progressed over the years and now have been without for 3 days.....wondering if it is the antenna.
