Just today, I've noticed that the radio stays on in my 2006 RL even after the car is shut down. In some cars, the radio stays on until you open a door when the car is shutdown after driving, but the RL was never like this. I'm listening to some XM, turn off the car, and the radio stays on for about 3-4 seconds and then fizzles out. I'm worried that this is a possible symptom of a larger (more expensive) issue....which are starting to crop up given the car's age.

 

Look for radio on eBay, you can swap the radio electronics (make sure it is exactly the same part number of your original radio, it's a must). I had an issue with the radio frozen (see my post) and fixed it for $60 used RL radio. Good luck!
