What happens when we get to Canada?

This may be a dumb question, but we are about to take a trip to Canada. What happens to the gps when we go over the border? Does it just go blank?

Many thanks,

Normcat

See your Navigation Manual

The system provides map coverage for the following 48 US states, and southern
Canada. The US map coverage consists of accurately mapped (verified) metropolitan areas (in the following list), and a less accurate (unverified)
rural database. Canada coverage consists of major metropolitan areas,
and major roads connecting the metropolitan areas within about 100
miles north of the U.S. border. If you need additional North Canada coverage,
you may purchase the Canadian DVD.

Also check out the Navi page on Owner Link which points you to Alpine, the OEM for the Navi system.

I took my 03 MDX into Toronto which has Southern Canada coverage and it worked fine. A few years back, I took my 01 MDX to the same places and it did go blank. I am pretty sure the RL will have coverage in lower parts of Canada.

I've only taken mine as far as Victoria, but it worked like a champ there. The real problem was trying to figure out how many KPH I was going -- not much granularity on the old speedo.

Thanks..it's working great!

Thank you all for such great responses. We are in Toronto and it's working great. I agree it's difficult to figure the speed...I'm doing it approximately. Wonder why Acura doesn't have a KPH scale as most cars have. I did set the nav to km and meters....at least that matches the road signs!

BTW, a car skidded in front of me today in the snow and I put on the brakes- hard...the car stopped inches from her door! No swerve on the brakes...just great! It's a remarkable car and a dream to drive.

The KPH are there, but they're tiny, toward the center, and in blue

Also works fine in Montreal if anyone is heading that way.

Drove my RL to Toronto and back to Chicago, Navi worked great. Most of Ontario is covered.
