Touch sensor access to front doors

I have an '05 RL. My remote won't allow me to use the touch function to lock or unlock the doors. I am also getting an orange sensor light on my dash referrring to my remote fob. I went to my dealer and was advised that it could be a host of issues including the battery not working(of couse I checked that first!!!!) Anyone have a clue as to what this is? I worked fine then all of a sudden stopped working??????? HELP!!!!

There were problems with the door handles not working on many of the 05s and I believe into the 06 year. Many replaced under warranty.
Are you original owner? If not, orig owner may not have got them replaced.
If it is battery issue in fob, the message should specifically state low battery in remote. I'm not aware of any other message referring to fob.

I am not the original owner. How do I find out if it was done? And if it wasn't what is the cost? The error message is for low battery. There is actually a warning light on the dashboard, and I get a message on the nav screen about the same thing.

If it makes you feel any better my 2010 ha to have a door handle replaced and it still is not working correctly. No problems with my previous '06 model.

Did you get an orange sensor light on your dash when the handles stopped working?

Simple fix for low battery in fob. You can get the battery anywhere they sell camera batteries. I got mine at CVS. Note, that after you change the battery, the message may not go away immeadiatly.

As for handle, I think you would have to check with the dealer for service records.
