T-mobile Razr and Data connection

My T-mobile Razr works well with the 2005 RL. I am though not able to make a data connection.

1. What do I need to do to make a data connection?
2. How does the data connection help me?
3. Is there a way to transfer the phone's contact list to the car?

Thanks,

Mir

I can't help with t-mobile, because I'm on Cingular. You should first search this formum to see if anyone else has posted about connecting with t-mobile.

In the meantime, and fwiw, here's my experience with Cingular and my Razr with my '05 RL...and thanks, btw for those who posted their experience...I'd never been able to figure this out on my own.

In order for the data connection to work, you must have a data subscription for the phone (I think that means that you can do internet on the phone) and the data strings for the phone need to match the ones in the car. I figured Cingular had their phone programmed for their data service, so I changed the RL's strings to match the Razr...instead of the other way around. I could not get a confirmation for a successful data connection until I changed the car's strings.

Theoretically, if the car experiences a serious hiccup, and say, your engine light comes on, the RL will use the phone's data service to communicate with an Acura server, which in turn, will email information to you in the car as to the seriousness of the problem, along with a suggested course of action for the problem. I hope this explanation is correct...the service manual and anything else that I've read, are circumspect/confusing about exactly what happens, but this is my own basic understanding as to how the system works.

As I recall from previous posts, there is not a way to transfer the phone's contact list to the car.

I'm having the same problem with my Moto V360. From where did you get the "phone" data connect string?
