When I turned my car on this morning I started getting a bluetooth pairing error. The system keeps on saying "starting the pairing process from the phone is not allowed, please use the phone setup option from the main menu". Even after I exit the setup a min later the same error keeps coming back. This keeps on going and going and I can't listen to the radio. I drove for 45 mins and this kept on going. Also the functions of the sunroof seems to be acting strange. I normally push the button up to just pop up the roof and push up again to put back down. This does not work. Now I have to push the button forward to pop it up and push back to put it down. The auto close and open does not work. I have to hold the button back or forward to open and close it. When I go home I am going to disconnect the battery to see if that helps. Other than that i will have to go to the dealer. I have a 2005 RL please help with any ideas. Thanks!

How are your windows acting--does the auto up down work? If not there is a reset procedure for those.

Try deleting the phone, and re-paring the bluetooth

When did you last change the car battery? A multitude of strange electrical sins occur with a low voltage battery...

 

My windows are fine infact one of the back windows didnt work and now goes up and down with one touch. The thing about the sun roof is it just started today also. I just hope they are not related. About the phone I can not do antyhing. As soon as I turn the car on that messages starts playing. There is nothing I can do. It just keeps on saying that message that I quoted word for word. I will try the sunroof reset and post the result. I called the dealer and they said it could be the bluetooth module and might need to replace it. But first they will do a hard reset on it. Not sure what that is. Im thinking it could mean disconnect the battery. The battery is new just put it in the fall.

 

Can't you use "Setup" command to interrupt messsage? Then go to delete phone as Chas suggests.
But, before that, I'd try resetting the phone - often cures wierd problems
