Question Shared Address Book (between the two drivers)

It appears that addresses in the Address Book are tied to the FOB that was used at the time of the entry. If I enter a new address, my wife will not have access to it when she uses the car with her FOB. I find that inconvenient and annoying. Is there a way (setting?) to make the Address Book shared between the two FOBs?

Exclamation Not Doable or Else?

Is the absence of response meaning that there is a lack of interest for the function or is it because it is just not doable?

Good question. We have been able to share names in the address book put in by various drivers, but I realize now, that all addresses were likely input with my fob active...I don't know that for sure, but I suspect it.

There is nothing in the 2006 manual about separate phone books. I suspect the two profiles are kept separate, but I will research.

The Driver 1 and Driver 2 address books are completely separate and accessible only by using the correct fob - there is no way to transfer the information between the two other than entering the information in manually.

Exclamation Oh Well

I am reassured that I had not missed a feature but disappointed that it cannot be done. Thanks dwboston (and Chas2).

Yes, it is a feature, not a bug!

One of those quirky things (like the way the MID functions) that makes the RL unique.

I'm not sure that the quirks were conscious decisions or that some of the RL's concepts were conceived by a Japanese woman who was never allowed to drive an automobile.
It's almost worth making both fobs Driver 1 and eliminating the possibility of 2 sets of values. It's well discussed as to the issues of your wife arriving before you do and all the presets go to her when you are the driver. You then press the address book and all the entries are for grocery shops, beauty shops and doctors!

Is it stored by fob or by device? I would think it would recognize the different phone once connected to bluetooth and use that phonebook. Have you ever tried connecting your phone to bluetooth and using her fob? This would be interesting to know.

D1 or D2 owns the book not the phone itself (05-0?)

Also, there is no bluetooth phonebook transfer on the 05-08 RL.

Oh ok, I thought it would recognize the phone itself since once a bluetooth device is paired it shares a unique code.

Arrow HFL/Nav Address Books

Just to make sure there is no confusion, the original question was about the Navigation system Address Book (and not the HFL address book). I can say that the HFL address book is not linked to the FOBs as we have used a single HFL address book (for the same cell phone) from the two FOBs without problems.

Now I am confused. I thought there were 2 HFL address books. One linked to D1 settings and the other linked to D2. The phone does not matter as I have gone through 4 phones and the HFL addresses remained when I switched phones.
