Self Diagnosis Mode

Just got back from a 1500 mile round trip to So. Cal. last night. The car is awesome. Plenty of power when I wanted to blast on to the freeway, and returned almost 28 mpg on the freeway cruising. What more could a guy ask for?

I received my 4.61 navigation disc in the mail and installed it last night. The car downloaded a software up grade and I was able to check the map to see if it worked as it should. It all checked out. Then this morning the wife calls me to say there is a screen called "self diagnosis" and has no clue how to clear it. I drive to where the car is and spend a good 20 minutes trying to figure out how to clear the screen. There isn't anything in the manuals about self diagnosis. What is going on and how do I clear it? Thanks!

When the time was right, I went back to the car to see if I could figure out how to get out of the self diagnosis mode. I played around and found out that I needed to do a voice check and push the back button to complete the test. Now it is cleared off the screen and everything is back to normal. What I don't know is how the wife got the unit into self diagnosis?

oh well, i think if you want to get inot the self diagnos screen, you need to press 3 buttons at the same time, (menu, cancel, and something i can't remember). if you turn off the car and turn it back on the screen will be cleared out

Chas, no link to the thread. Sherman, yeah I know what you mean about the 3 buttons but my wife doesn't know about that, so she would have had to deliberately been trying to get someplace she wasn't supposed to go. I am baffled as to how this screen popped up. At least now I know how to get out of it.
