replacing bose in a 2005 rl please help!
My bose just isnt cutting it and i hear distortion from either the front speakers or tweeters idk.. i know the doors are 6.5" but what size is the speakers on the back dash and subwoofer,i heard it was a 9" sub but i never heard of sub that size. im trying to avoid installing a sub box in the trunk so i was wondering if i could put a "open air" sub for bass in the existing place where the bose sub is and install 6.5" componets in the doors for voice. dont know what i would do for the 2 small speakers on the back dash and 1 on the front dash???? any suggestions????
There is alot of research that needs to go into this. Most factory amps use 2 ohm speakers so if you get the normal 4 ohm speakers you will loose half your power. It may be easier to add an aftermarket amp but they are not cheap and your ou also might need to look into the active noise cancelation crap and make sure this isn't going to mess up your hfl. Keep us informed though because i'm interested in this as well!
I recomend a speaker called 18 SOUNDS, best mid bass i ever heard. I build custom enclousers on the side and beleve me when i tell you thats the speaker you want. You need an a&b amp (2 channel amp). I built a 3 chamber bandpass for my RL with two JL W7. Still have room to take out spare tire and access to Navi CD rom.
