This evening when I got in my car, the nav system booted up and then asked me for a code. I had no nav, no radio, no computer. I don't know the code and did't have the card with me. The car ran and drove fine except that the memory for the seat/mirrors would not work. The avg fuel on/trip odo that shows up under the speedo was unaffected.
When I got home, I got the card with the radio code and entered that, and now everything works again. All of the radio presets, address book entries and nav settings are there. The memory for the seat/mirrors still does not work.

Anyone have any idea why this happened?

 

Seems like the radio and nav lost power for some reason or other. That is the only reason I can think of.

 

Thanks - I can't imagine how that happened without a dead battery.....strange.

 

Isn't the Onstar remaining minutes issue supposed to be related to a dead battery? Unless the dealer disconnected the battery for some reason at my first oil change, I have no knowledge that I've lost power. But, I have lost Onstar minutes.

After Katrina, I didn't drive the car for several days on a couple of occasions except briefly, but am not aware that I had any battery problems during that episode.
