Phone Book Number Entry
Phone Book Number Entry
I have a 2005 RL.
When I am entering a new name and phone number into the RL's phone book is there any way to enter the phone number without speaking it?
My RL doesn't do a very good job anymore of recognizing phone numbers as I speak them. I recently had to speak the phone number more than 20 times before the RL got it right. It used to work on the first try most of the time. So is there an alternative to speaking the phone number?
I believe in some newer RLs you can transfer names & numbers from your cell phone but I don't think that works in the 2005 RL.
Thanks.
Peter

If you are referring to the HFL Phonebook (Bluetooth Phone Interface) phonebook entries may only be added with voice commands.
If you are referring to phone number entries in the NAVI Address Book, you can enter either by voice command or interface knob selection.
When using voice commands, be sure your center air vents are not pointed upward as the microphone is located in the overhead console and wind noise may interfere with voice recognition. Of course windows must be closed and no cross talk in the cabin.
If you are familiar with the Diagnostic Screens in the NAVI you may want to check the microphone calibration, or have the dealer check it for you.
