No code for radio

Help..My battery has died a few times before and I needed to have the code for the GPS, but the radio was never affected. Yesterday I took the terminal off the battery to clean it and now it's asking for a radio code. I called the dealer and they don't have it, even after looking it up by vin number. Is there a way I can reset it by myself? The Acura dealer told me to stop in and he'd help me find it, but I'm nowhere near the dealer. Any help?

there should be a little card with the owners manual that has the code on it. Nav is a 4 digit code. and right above it is a 5 digit code

If it were that easy to reset, then it would serve no purpose. It is supposed to stop people who have disconnected it from power from using it.

Carbon is right. It is in your manual/book somewhere.

Good advice above, if all else fails I'd say take your girl to Manhattan for the day, drop the car off at the dealer and check the city out while you wait.

I have a little sticker with the codes stuck inside my glove box. May want to look there.

I agree with checking the glove box and manual.
I also recommend checking the fuseboxes, it might be on the cover.
Radio code can be obtained from acura, (side note: radio code is entered in using the PRESENTS BUTTONS (1-6)).
Navigation Code is a little difficult; if you can not find the code, you need to take out the navigation box in the trunk; call acura customer care and give them the serial number and vin number. (I learned the hard way by paying $150 to the dealer to get code)

I hope your endeavor was better than what i had to go through.

I bought the RL used, but it does have all manuals but no little card with codes on it. When the GPS went out last year, I did have to take it to the dealer and he helped me get the codes for that (for free). At that time, the radio never went out. Weird. I did call him and he said he'd help look for the codes, I just can't get the time to bring it to him and thought you guys might know a way to reset it or look for it elsewhere. By the time I get out of work and drive down there, they are closed. I looked in all the manuals but didn't know about the sticker on the inside the glove box. I'll check there and in the fuse compartments. Thanks and I'll let you guys know how I make out...

Can't this be handled over the phone? Dealer has VIN. They should be able to get the code from Acura Customer Care or whatever it is called.

You can, too: register with MyAcura.com and when you login...you can click a tab for your codes.

You can also press and hold presets 1 & 6 to display the serial number.
