New Navi Disks On Sale

If anyone is interested in upgrading, the current navigation disks are 20% off ($149) at acuranavi.com through June 30. Sadly, I upgraded my '04 MDX at full price a few weeks ago (but I did get free shipping!).

Looks like the sale applies to all models.

Quick update...just called Acuranavi to see if I could get a price adjustment on the disk I bought for my MDX. Their first response was "prices are subject to change" but if was within a couple of days, he could ask for approval. Well, it was bout six or seven weeks so I figured no way but I asked the him to ask anyway. A couple of minutes later he came back and told me the adjustment was approved and they will credit my card $36.00. Nice!

Firstly I do not think that it is a good deal - $25 would be reasonable. Free download would be a good deal.
How many changes do you think that they make between versions? If it's 5000 then it is most likely that only one of them would pertain to your area of interest. I live in So Cal so I really don't care about a new restaurant in NY (as vise versa). This is a big country and your RL will probably only see a small percentage of states but you are going to pay for all of those updates anyway. So a good deal, Google maps are a good deal - they are free.

+1.

I wish they would update the roads/maps of SoCal. If this was the case, I'd update mine. I could care less about POI's.

Never said it was necessarily a good deal but for Acura owners who would like to keep their navi maps up to date (I know the newest release has a number of new streets in my area on it), $149 is better than $185.

Depends too on how old your current car/ disc is... I'm thinking of going for the deal since I haven't updated my Navi disc since I bought my car in 2006. It's probably worth it to folks like me but for 2009 or even 2008 models, maybe not... Then again db22 is right... Google Maps are free...

It all depends on how much you drive and how much you really need navigation. I drive a lot, and updated points of interests are a big help. I just updated from 4.56 but haven't been out of town to notice any major changes.

Before investing in a new NAVI DVD it is wise to check the website for what updates the latest version includes.

They do list the map updates by state and area. So if none apply to your driving locale, you may not see any differences.

Next, there may be functional upgrades such as the DST update, one way traffic and NavTraffic updates. These may or may not be of value to you and may or may not be in the current DVD version you are running.

Bottom line, if there are no map updates (to your area) and no NAVI feature updates from the version you are currently running the only value will be newer Zagat ratings.

lland, thanks for the heads up!

I called them to ask for a price adjustment as well. At first they also came back to me with "prices are subject to change." But I asked the lady politely that I'm only 1 day past the 30 day satisfaction period. She put me on hold, came back and said she would credit me. I haven't seen anything yet on my credit card and it's been about 2 weeks. I was wondering if you've seen anything yet?
