Does anyone have link where I can download the 1.29.00 and update my 05 RL GPS. I downloaded the maps and burned it on Verbatim +R DL but the screen just blink every few seconds. I tried several discs with different speeds but no luck. Is there someone else I need to do?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

 

cant help ya, maybe someone will chime in that has successfully pirated the maps.

 

Pirated maps wouldnt work, many have tried and almost all of them have failed. Its got something to do with the disc capacity.

As far as update disc is considered. When you buy OEM upgrade disc for 05 RLs the map cd comes with upgrade CD as well. As without the upgrade the newer map cds wouldnt work on the 05 nav system. I just went through something similar myself.

 

JnC - Pirated maps work fine. I bought a intermediary version on ebay and have burned the last 2 map updates successfully.

 

I have the firmware update if you still need it. I'll send a PM with download instructions.

Pirated discs work fine. If you have the OEM discs, there are a couple files that you need to replace and you'll be fine. Its out there in torrent land. I've done it myself

The web site says 2013 will be out this month.

Can anyone tell me if the firmware update exists on the map disc? I'm assuming not but need to verify.


I just ordered the 2015 map update and need to know if there's another step I need to take to be up-to-date.

if you ordered it and selected an 05 model car you will get two discs.

 

So if I selected 08 for my car then i won't?

you have to be very specific on the type of dvd also, I believe it was Verbatims that worked.

If you buy the map and select an 05 they will send you a firmware disc.

 

what are the buttons that I press on my navigation to bring up the firmware version that I am running, I'm running a copy Honda Acura Navigation DVD 4.A2 , I downloaded &
burned 2 years ago I know the hold down Map + Cancel + Menu
but when I look in version I can't tell what firmware is installed.

Oh we didn't know that Duke. We figured it was obsolete and only could be obtained through the black market.
