Unhappy NavTraffic Out Again

The Acura dealer had previously solved the issue of NavTraffic disappearing after about 20 minutes. Then on 12/28 there was some type of 'restart' which completely negated the fix and now NavTraffic is again disappearing after 20 minutes.

One step frontwards; two steps back!

Wow -- no problems with my RL's NavTraffic since the 'fix' from over a month ago.

Can you describe the restart you experienced?

Can't verify a restart from the message received via Acrualink which simply stated that NavTraffic may have restarted (msg of 12/28). All I know is that NavTraffic now [again] disappears after 15-20 minutes of use and even while the NavTraffic icon is displayed, it appears no NavTraffic data has been received.

Bmac, where are you located? I am in Massachusetts and my car has been in the dealer for this same issue since Dec 7th. They say they have to replace the whole nav system and the part is backordered due to the problem.

I live in LA and lost NavTraffic last week. I called XM and they said they'd ping me to get it going again but that hasn't worked. I really like my RL but a lot of the technology in the car is not really ready for market.

I totally agree with you, I think this time Acura bit more than they can chew.

Mine's been out since the message as well. At this point, do you think it best to contact XM or Acura. If XM, what is the best contact #? Thanks.

I live 35 miles SW of Philly. I believe this problem must be addressed by the dealer - as it was previously.

After having the car into the dealer several times for this issue, I'm not sure NavTraffic is worth the extra cost (after the year of free service).

No problems here in the SF Bay Area. When you have navtraffic problems call 800 985 9200. I was given that number when I talked to an XM nav tech about the issue. This should bypass India although I haven't dialed it yet. I should put it in my HFL list.

This is not a NavTraffic issue (as they will tell you). It is a hardware issue for which Acrua is responsible.
