navi, backup cam brightness

I've already done a search and seen the thread about navigation brightness having to do with temperature outside.

I am annoyed that my navigation just won't get bright enough and the backup cam is useless on a really bright, sunny day. I'm going to tint my windows soon so I know that will help. But it would be great if I could get my navigation to be much brighter and vivid and my backup camera to me much brighter too. The navigation is passable most of the time but the backup cam brightness is often a FAIL.

Anyone been able to find a solution?

No issue with mine either. I mean it can be a little dark in certain situations, but not enough that I can't see.

Did you already turn up the brightness as much as possible? Just rotate the jog knob clockwise while the camera image is showing. That's all that you can do.

Take your sunglasses off...? Only time I can't see my backup cam is when I have them on.

I think you will find it is to do with the temperature inside the car and once the screen has warmed up after a couple of minutes it is much brighter although I agree sometimes in direct sunlight it is useless. Closing the moon roof cover also helps a bit.

I have an aftermarket BU camera setup and there's also a brightness adjustment on the adapter. The best picture isn't going to be when the brightness is "turned all the way up" like you might think. Start with the settings about in the middle (brightness, contrast, black level) and see how that looks.
