My RL with new fog light bulbs... H11 LEDs

Hey Guys/Gals,

Just thought I'd share a vid with you all of my RL with white H11 LED bulbs for the fog lights. They do not output bright lumens as driving lamps would, but the look is hot for under $20. Check out the vid:

Nice! Which bulbs did you get? No error messages on the MID?

these are the style of bulbs I got: http://www.ledlight.com/images/75647...-led-light.jpg

Everything seems good so far. No problems in the MID. Although, my MDX did have a problem with 7440 LED turn signals. They look good but are flashing way too fast. Now I am reconsidering the 7443 LED rear turn signals for the RL...

The LED vendors usually have a resistor you can put in line that will solve the flashing too fast issue.

Thanks Chas2! Wish they'd let us know. Are there any problems with law enforcement if turn signals flash too fast?

In Conclusion:
They are "hot", They are "very cool", They run cool and they do not have bright lumens.
I think I've got it now.

Do you have a lumen rating on the LEDs?

Typical H11 is around 1350 lumens; I would think you would be lucky to get even 500 hundred lumens with the H11 LEDs.

This particular style of LED bulbs puts out about 360 lumens, which really isn't a lot. But I'm not too worried as the D2S HID bulbs (low-beams) produce 2400 lumens of light. As long as others can see the fogs as I am coming, that's all that really matters.

I think what sahan23 means is he wants the fog lights to have that bright cool white (5000-6000K) appearance that is closer to the HID color temperature.

He is not interested in actual foreground and side illumination, feeling the the standard headlights are more than good enough for that. I think the video shows that he has achieved the appearance he is looking for!

May I ask where you wired the leds to and what turns them on, ie. fog lights, headlights?

Chas2 is exactly right. Thanks for explaining it to db22! As far as where I wired these... Simply swapped the H11 halogen bulbs out for the H11 LED bulbs. They turn on exactly the same way as stock.
