I have XM raido with live traffic. Isn't it suppose to send messages to my screen alerting me to construction and or accidents. For some reason I'm not getting them. If this is the case how do I set it up?

1. is there nav coverage in your area? It's not everywhere, only in like 20 cities.
2. You don't automatically get messages. You have to be zoomed in to the 'traffic" area (there's a bar in the zoom display that shows the area, it's like between 1/4 mile and 5 mile scale) and then you can see icons -- if you have icons turned on in the setup.
3. You will also see flow data -- which is green, yellow, or red lines on monitored roads. You will not get traffic data on non-monitored roads.
4. the obligatory -- RTFM.

You can use the voice command "display traffic list" and it will list any incidents or construction within a 30 mile radius, provided you are in an area with traffic. The 06 I believe also has an option if you press in the control knob while viewing the map to display the traffic list.
