Sounds like a dead door handle scenario to me.

I think you have to better describe the symptoms. Are you saying that once you get into the car with your key, the nav system doesn't work, power locks don't work, and the fuel door button doesn't work either??? None of that stuff should have anything to do with your remote. If that is the case, it's probably your car battery that's dying.

If it was just the keyless start and the touch handle, it could be your remote. Does your car unlock and lock with the buttons?

Instructions for re-syncing your fob are on the back of the fob. However, I have to agree with Megatron that it sounds like your battery is going.

You can program a keyfob yourself with this car? The car I am getting has only one. There are used ones on ebay, but the listings say the dealer has to program the remote. Is this not the case?

You will need a locksmith/key cutter to make the physical key fit. You will need a Dealer's Honda HDS tool to make the remote in the fob work with your car which will be on the order of $100-200.

No, but you can sync it to the car. Meaning, linking the driver's memory settings (seat, mirrors, wheel) to the key fob.

Come to think about it, I recently bought a CR-V from a Mazda dealer and they had an extra key made. You may not need the Honda HDS, but you do need a special tool to program the RFID.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think you need the HDS to allow the engine immobilizer to recognize the chip in the physical key.
