Keyfob driver memory settings

When my wife drives my RL and uses key-fob #2, her memory settings are set properly. However the next time I enter the car with my keyfob #1, my settings don't return and the car still shows "Welcome Driver #2" on the MID.

The only way I've found to get my settings back is to press the unlock button on my keyfob before entering the car. I thought the keyless entry feature is supposed to automatically registered whichever keyfob comes into contact with the car first, then apply the memory settings of that driver.

Am I doing something wrong? Anyone else experience this?

If your wife locks the car after driving it, the next time you approach and unlock the car with your keyfob (either with the fob or the handle) it will be set to driver 1.

If the car does not go through the unlocking/recognition part, it seems to still remember the last driver.

That is exactly the way it is supposed to work.

Yes - I was really trying to confirm that you have to go through the full sequence or you won't get the correct driver settings.
