hfl volume
Can someone help me with the volume of the computer voice in hands free link?
HFL computer voice is always much louder than the caller's voice once the call is connected. I always have to turn up the sound when on a call. Then, if I forget to turn down the volume before I initiate the next call, the computer voice blows out my eardrums.
Btw, I have no problems controlling computer voice volume of the navi system.

The short answer is the stereo volume control will control both the HFL voice and the call volume. They are not independently controllable.
A couple of points:
The HFL voice and NAVI are two independent systems. To keep me on cue, I have the HFL voice male and NAVI female.
The HFL voice transmits through ALL stereo system speakers (the stereo mutes during HFL calls).
The NAVI voice only transmits to the front speakers, rear speaks continue to play stereo broadcasts.
If your stereo volume is moderately high when HFL engages, it will be louder...certainly louder than a NAVI voice prompt as it will mute the stereo.
You simply have to toggle the volume down (yes it can be startling when HFL engages). But usually once a call is engaged, there are rare situations where HFL voice is needed while on a call.
Last, Bluetooth configurations from different phones / carriers will impact the sound quality / volume transmitted to the HFL of the RL.

I have the same problem never figured it out. The volume for the ringing will be consistent with the computer voice but then will become quieter either while still ringing or right after the party answers. Also, on my 2005 the volume for the HFL seems to be independent of the radio volume. That is it remembers the volume setting say 14 that I last used on the HFL even if the stereo volume is set to 10. I have just gotten used to adjusting the volume once the call starts but like it if there was an easy solution.

my experience is that Caller voice colume is very phone dependent (I've changed phone 3 times)
Thus, there can big difference between HFL command volume and caller volume.
