Hold down the call and back button for about 5 seconds. It should say diagnostics OK. Even with a good diagnostics there could still be problems but it's somewhere to start.

If you decide to check the unit, remove the glove box instead of trying from the passenger kick panel. It's much easier to remove/replace that way. The glove box is fairly easy when you know how.

is there a reset button on the unit itself...I am not sure what the unit looks like I am trying to find diagram, or some information about the unit. You have any suggestions?

There is no button. I just thought you could unplug it and plug it back in. It is about the size of a cigarette pack attached by a green 12? pin connector. If you take out the glove box it is mounted to vertically to a bit of aluminum frame by two 10mm nuts. I found it by referencing this page http://www.mediafire.com/?k8jqxt8q6t7yq and the "Electrical component locator" file. If you find it you could unplug it to see if you get your radio back. You cant use any voice activation features with it unplugged however.

Do you have a link to an owners manual for an Acura 2005 RL...then I can locate the box...the link you gave is for 2007 -2008 Manual

It's in the same location. From what I gather 05-08 are very similar cars.

yep, it should all be the same OP.

FWIW, unplugging it may reset it.

Here is a picture of the box. It is on an iPad for reference and those are 10mm nuts above it.

I think I've figured out how to post the photo now. This is my old broken one. The plastic tabs for mounting the box were broken off as if someone who doesn't know what they're doing was trying to replace it.
