hands free shortcoming

Hands free is great when you're calling home. But, what about when you are calling the office or another business and you must press zero for the operator or enter an extension.

Is there a way around this issue that I'm not aware of?

Lightbulb

After the call connects, hit the prompt button and say 'Send Zero'.

HFL replies: 'Zero?'

You: 'Yes'.

It should then transfer the call to the operator. You can do the same with an extension #. I use it this way to enter the passcodes and menu prompts when calling my answering machine on my way home form the office.

You can also store a loggin in sequence to access voice mail or other accounts. Just store the log in sequence and give it a name, (i.e. "login Voicemail").

Then call your voice mail box, when the call picks up, just say "Send Login Voicemail".

It then sends the key sequences and logs you in. I use it all the time for both my work and personal voice mail boxes.

The HFL will allow you to step through voice prompt menus. As mentioned, wait for the voice menu prompt, then add the required digits using the HFL.

The occaisional problem lies with the HFL not recognizing your voice command. I have found by saying 'SEND 1234' is recognized better than '1234' alone. If the HFL misunderstands your command, you are basically screwed in the voice menu you are navigating.

The second problem can be with the speed of the HFL. Since it repeats back your command for verification, and then you have to say 'Yes' or 'Send', the voice prompt menu you are trying to navigate may time out.

But I have learned how to navigate my voice messages via the RLs HFL, so by the time I get home from the office, all my messages have been reviewed and or replied to. It is nice to get that stuff outta the way so I can get home and relax!

RL = Office Assitant.

I have found rather than saying yes, you press and hold the HFL button after giving the command, and that is like a "Yes". HFL does not ask you back to confirm, just does, although it does confirm the action, like "redialing"

That's a good question. Never needed to do something like that. I assume you tried saying "Send Star" or "Send Asterisk".

*86 is the speed dial number for Verizon Voice Mail. I tried saying "star 86" but it didn't work.

HFL recognizes "star" as the asterisk. I use it all the time as I navigate through voice mail.

Try saying "Dial star 8-6".

In the RL's NAVIGATION Manual, pages 146-148 have the Alpha, Numeric & Symbols characters the Voice Activation recognizes in a nice chart format.

Perhaps someone with a scanner can post them in the forum. It would be a handy excerpt to have.

See if you cannot find it here

https://techinfo.honda.com/rjanisis/....ASP?YEAR=2007

They also added the manual for 2008 Ridgeline. That folder was not there the last time I looked.
