Galaxy S4 update and bluetooth fails

Got an update from Android 4.4.1 to 4.4.2 and now I can't seem to get the bluetooth to work in my 05 RL. Older os worked just fine. Now I can pair the phone, but as soon as I make the call using the car's bluetooth the call gets dropped from the car and continues on the phone.

Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks.

hi Heavy-
no headset involved- the phone pairs well with the car, i can see the signal strength and battery state of charge icons on the dash. but once i make a call using the cars buttons on the steering wheel the call is initiated, i hear the number ringing through the cars bluetooth, and within a second or two the call is dropped from the cars bluetooth but remains active on the phone itself. I have this problem with the phone on my 05 RL and on my 2013 MDX. Before this 4.4.2 upgrade both cars worked fine with the S4. I'm mystified!

right... but there is a button labeled "headset" on the phone... if you press it, does it reconnect?

I found what you mean. No, it won't reconnect when i press that "headset" button. Call stay on on the phone, but not car.

One more thing... Go to Bluetooth in settings and make sure the car is paired, then click the gear beside the car in the list and make sure "call audio is checked.

If all is correct, try dialing from the phone and connecting (with out using the steering wheel) and see if it drops.

while not in the car I am trying to check the call audio box, and it won't allow it to be checked. Is this a problem? Should I be doing this while in the car?

Thanks for all your help Heavy!

Sitting in the car... as you normally would... connect to the cars blue tooth... check the box... and make a call via the phone.

thats your issue... start with a re-sync on the phone (delete/add), if that doesnt work its your hardware in the car.

Thanks Heavy-

I suspect it is the software update, since after the update the phone is not working in either of my acuras. Before the update phone worked fine in both cars. And my wife's iphone works fine in the MDX.
I just have to hope that Samsung/Google can correct this in a patch or next edition of Android OS.
