OK, so I'm really enjoying the 5.1 surround on DVD-A discs in the RL. (I know, its an archaic/dead format. Just bear with me here). I'm not willing to pay 20-30 bucks for DVD-A discs on eBay/Amazon/etc, so I torrented some files from various sources. Burned them onto discs and got them working...but it seems like the rear soundstage is too bright and too "high" (like the soundstage is up by the roof and not towards the middle of the rear seat, if you close your eyes). Most significantly, it just seems to be playing in stereo, with nothing coming from the center channel.

My question: is the car reading these discs correctly and that's just how they're supposed to sound, or is there something in the torrented file (even though it says 5.1 DVD-A on it) that won't read correctly?
