it works fairly well. Now and then I get people saying I sound bad on the other end. Usually they're on a cell phone too.

Okay, I'm planning to pick up a different phone for the RL (right now I've just got a basic PM-325 LG that stays in the car). I'm looking at either the Blackberry 7130e or the SCP-6600 "Katana". I do realize the difference in functionality between the two phones as far as personal use goes. However, I'm curious as to their interaction with the RL. What else will I see? Right now the LG doesn't do anything other than make phone calls and receive them (and shows caller ID). Will either or both of these other two do more? Can I voice call by name rather than number or any other info show up on the MID? Both these phones show they are still being evaluated by Acura so they don't have details on the site. Any info would be appreciated.

Well, I know you voice dial the number. That works just fine. But I also thought the feature was available to dial by name. I can do that with my handset but not from the car to the handset... Seems like I remember seeing a commercial where folks were able to do that tho...

Say...
"phone book"
"store"
It then asks you for the name (i.e. "home"), then it asks you for the number.
After you store it, instead of voice dialing the number, you just say, "call Home".
I think that's the sequence of commands, if not, just say "help" and it'll walk you through it.
I have several numbers setup that way, even my work voice mail box. I even stored the key sequences to log in stored as LOGIN VOICE MAIL.
I just say... "Call VOICE MAIL WORK", after it connects, I say Send LOGIN VOICE MAIL.
Pretty cool.

HAHA, yeah, I was just going to post RTFM!!! I went ahead and picked up the Katana yesterday evening and decided to link it up this morning. I guess I linked the first one up with the dealer because I couldn't recall the steps to do it so I grabbed the manual and accidentally found a wealth of knowledge!! Sorry for the silly post. Yep, that is what I was looking for. I setup several numbers in my phonebook this morning so that is very cool!!

LG 8300 With Verizon
My info shows up fine. I am not sure if caller ID works. I never get to use it though, because everyone says I sound terrible. I was so excited, and could not wait to get a bluetooth phone to use with my RL. I haven't used it in weeks. I am bummed.

HELP!! Have an LG-325 but want a PDA phone!
Can someone please tell me once and for all...
does the Treo 700w or Treo 700p work with the HFL? I have seen posts
where incoming calls do not route to the HFL??? Has anyone had success
with the 700? Currently my 325 allows send and receive of calls with caller ID and call waiting, but no sig strength and no battery level. I am with Sprint.
