Dial from phone (8700C), then transfer to HFL

I have tried searching for this answer, but I can't find the exact issue.

I have successfully paired my Cingular Blackberry 8700C with my 06 RL. The HFL voice dialling all works fine.

However, what I want to do it to dial from my 8700c, then have the call come out on the HFL.

When I dial on my 8700c, I can see the call is going through, but no sound comes out of the audio system. If I did this with a bluetooth headset, I would immediately be able to hear the call on the headset.

Is there no way to do this with the HFL? Do I have to say transfer each time?

I'd like to know how to do this too. I have Verizon Motorola. I accidently did this last night. I had shut off the engine and gotten out of the car and was trying to make a call on the cell. Did not realize phone was still connected - could not hear person on other end because it was on HFL. However, I had previously initiated a call inside the car through the phone, but it did not go to the HFL.

Yes, you have to transfer the call everytime.

You're better off just using the voice dialing since this ensures that the call will be made through the HandsfreeLink

Same problem i have with my Blackberry 7130e from Verizon and my 05 RL...however, give this a try and let me know if it works:

Make a call from your cell, while HFL is active and it will not be transfered over. Dial the same number again and HFL will pick up the outgoing call - i confirmed this today with my phone.

Clearly a bug/incompatibility between HFL and Blackberry, because i did not have this issue with my previous cell phone Palm Treo 650

Hmm. I call on my cell all the time and then transfer to HFL. I simply hit the speed dial I want and while it's ringing I press the HFL button and say 'transfer'. After a few seconds the HFL takes over. This works every time with my Nokia 6256i and it should work with any other phone. I just wish that the HFL system had a dedicated 'transfer' button. But hey, it's not like the friendly HFL people actually *use* what the sell so how would they know how to make it more userfriendly

The manual transfer process works with my Blackberry as well, but my point was that my old cell phone, Treo 650 would automatically transfer all outgoing calls to the HFL without any intervention from me........

Nice. I wish my phone did that.
