I could not find Best Buy stores on my Nav, anyone have any luck?

It worked for me 1st try on this pathway...

Menu => Shopping => Category => All Shopping => City Vicinity => Select Current City=> spell 'Best Buy'.

Got a list.

Since we are somewhat local and have the same model year, I would expect you would find similar results.

One note: I generally find it better to filter by city rather than 'Sort by Distance' (step 5 of the above pathway). It seems the more you narrow the search area first, the results seem more on target. In fact just searching by 'Best Buy' I had to type the whole name (and got result all over the country). If I select Current City then spell 'Best Buy' it listed the locations when I had reached 'Best B....'.

I had a Garmin 2620 a few years back, and it refused to find Walmart stores. I never could figure out whether Walmart hadn't forked over the payola to get on the POI list or what.

When I'm having a hard time finding a POI via the categories I use the 800-GOOG-411 free information (always on speed dial and much better than 800-FREE-411) to get the phone number and look up by phone number. As great as the address recogition is, nothing's faster than ten quick digits.

I did everything right, like before, problem is Best Buy is not in the system, it is not new, just not in the system for Sarasota or the one in Bradenton.
Guess I need to get a newer version.
I will test the new version at the dealer.

I suppose it could also be addresses?

I have tried to find the Hampton Inn in Cary, NC, and could not find it, only to find out that it really was in Garner, NC, despite its name, and sure enough, it was there, but I ignored Garner (you should also know, that I had no idea where any of these cities were, or that they were adjacent to each other)

I will try a search for Best Buy in Sarasota on my Navi too. If it does not come up, it is assuredly missing from our Navi version database. The Tampa locations were found. I will also try 'Sort by Distance' to see if that returns any Sarasota results.

I checked on my way home Kirby, and apparently Sarasota is the black hole of Best Buy retailers.

They must not have been in the database for the SRQ area, and we must share the same Navi disc version.

It is not your RL's Navi, it is likely the database version.

I'm holding off getting a newer disc version. Aside from the reported bugs in the current release, all the major highways in Tampa are under destruction with new ramps and exits popping up. I might as well wait a year or two so the newly ineffective arteries will show up properly on the Navi. I get a chuckle everyday where a temporary rerouted road now crosses what was once a medium sized drainage pond. It appears on my Navi that my RL can drive on water!

There is only one solution Kirby..... you have to move!

But if you decide you can only visit Best Buy in Tampa (as the Navi dictates), bring the NSX and drop me a note...I'd love to see it!
