climate control backlight failure

Greetings, Recently the backlights on my climate control temperature adjustment switches failed. So my question is should I worry about it and take it to the dealer and have them fix the problem??(under bumper-to-bumper extended warranty) Obviously yeah,..but my concern is when they take apart the center console and put it back together, it might get damaged and/or create new creaks and rattles..

Can this be a DIY??

I had the same problem and took mine in. No issues so far.

Getting to the climate controls is about a 15 minute job, or 30 if you are taking your time. I posted diagrams from the Acura service manual in a recent post about the dreaded center creaking. If you follow the same directions you'll find there, you just have a few additional bolts holding the radio in place, remove the radio and the climate control is attached to the same radio panel.

Standard answer for me is since it is under warranty, have them fix it. And if they don't put it back together correctly, that is their responsibility, too. With my mechanical skills, I would likely break a piece or two.
