Change the OK/startup screen on a 2006 RL

I cannot belive that there has not been some discussions around how to change the default screen on an 2006 RL to something other than the words that now apear... Maybe it is not possible but I thought I saw, at a dealer the other day an Acrua that had the startup screen with a picture of a family on it...

I am sorry if this has been discussed before I could a thread so if someone could kindly point me in the right direction it would be much appreciated!!

THanks

Gary

I believe that there were some guys on the TL forums who successfully decompiled the Nav disc to insert custom pictures instead of the splash screen and even insert an auto "button-press" for the disclaimer screen. I don't know that anyone was successful doing the same for the RL.

with the RL, the only thing that you can change is that startup screen which has the acura logo on it to something else, the auto-ok button only works for the 3.xx disks, the 4.xx disks which the RL and all 2007+ acuras use do not support it.

Somebody makes an "Ok" enter module, but I forgot who it was. I've got the link bookmarked on my PC at home if anyone needs it. I'll probably get one for my car. Its not a huge deal to press ok but still it shouldn't have to be done every single time I start the car.

Maybe not a HUGE deal - but a pain, none the less - just as it is to have to continue to press the HFL button again to enter additional commands.

I would be interested to know how the physical connections are made in the RL. Inserted in between plugs in the wiring harness (that would be ideal but I sort of doubt it), cutting and splicing wires (well - maybe - I do know how to solder and use proper crimp connectors plus have the necessary tools - sort of what I do for a living AND a hobby) or use the wire tap thingies that tap into the wire by slicing through the insulation and likely breaking one or two strands of the wire at the same time (no f...in' way!!!)?
