CD Player Loses Memory

Here's the problem: Have a CD playing when I turn the car off. When I go back and start the car, the CD resets back to track 1 rather than resuming play where it left off. I'm on my second radio and they both have had the same problem. Never an issue with my 1999 TL or my Honda CRV.

Anyone else experience this?

No, actually. Quite the opposite, in fact. Once I load up my 6 cd's, during normal weekday commuting, it takes me at least 2 weeks before I will have played through each cd. Each time I park the car, the cd stops and the next time it starts up right where it left off.

Perhaps a dealer check-up is in order.

Agreed. Go back to the dealer. Who knows what could be the cause of this. Have you tried a different CD?

Dealer now trying to claim that the problem is because the CDs in question were burned on my computer rather than being store bought. You would think that in this day and age that a high end CD player in an expensive car would be able to properly play a CD burned on ones computer. Certainly, my 1999 Honda CRV can do it so why not the Acura RL?

I have my doubts about this explanation as the the loaner RL I am driving plays them flawlessly.

Go to another dealer - they are idiots. My dealer tried to tell me that with my 04' TSX when I had it and I said NO and put it in a TSX on the lot and it played fine. Then they took back their comment and said "oh its just when you put the home made labels on the CDs that they can get jammed in the cd player" and they replaced the unit.
