Bluetooth streaming 05 RL Canadian spec
Hello I have searched and to be fair didnt find a concrete answer. Im looking at purchasing a 05 Canadian RL and im wondering how to stream music etc,, I saw Navtool has a kit for apple car play but doesn't mention music from my readings. i had a bov1000 on my 09 bmw but I heard the 05 rl doesn't have a aux or usb jack to do this. woulds love the easiest and cheapest way to play music on the RL from my iPhone 12. Any insight always appreciated guys.
3.5 mm auxiliary port
I bought a 2005 Acura RL myself about eight years ago. I used to use an FM modulator to get my music from my phone in my previous car, but I was dissatisfied with the sound quality and with often having to flip to look for a better, unused FM station.
What I finally chose was to install a 3.5 mm aux in port hardwired into the car stereo. This is the same method that I used to play my Walkman way back in the day in my first car when I was in college.
This was harder to do than in my 1973 Plymouth. Therefore, I asked a stereo shop to install such a system, which they had suggested as a quick and inexpensive workaround to a digital sysyem, putting the aux in port into the center console.

Hey, I had same issue.
Best way is to buy USA SPEC BT45-HON3 unit. It works flawlessly.
In the American RL is you can plug it into XM unit in the trunk. I tore my trunk apart to realize this was not included in our Canadian RL. I then installed it into the back of the headunit in the CD port. So when I get in the car if the head unit is set to CD it will connect to bluetooth.
