Best placement to route iPod/Aux cables?

I'm going this weekend to have the local Best Buy install a USA Spec PA15-AcuXL in my 2006 RL, but I'm debating over placement of the cables.

Where have some of you guys routed the cables to? Center console? Beside the driver's seat?

I had a 2004 TL previously and liked that it had a place to rest an iPod or cell phone between the seats. The RL obviously doesn't have this so I'm thinking that going through the console is the best option but holes will obviously have to be drilled. I want to make sure of my decision before going into Best Buy to have it done.

Where did you have them put the cables / ipod adapter? I am debating taking the car to BestBuy to have them do it or possibly try it myself. What did they charge you to run the cables?

I've installed this myself.. it turned out to be a real pain..but in the end I enjoy it..
I had to run the cable from the trunk thru the backseat then thru the driver side sills. then around and behind the carpet in the driver side, then thru the center console..I made a hole in the compartment of the center console where the power outlet is..best place because its minimal damage and can be replaced.

Thanks. I am not sure if that makes me want to give it a shot or not

My real concern is removing the center console panels / gear shift molding without breaking anything.

The gearshift cover is a pain, but it does come off without any damage. The cover between the cupholders and the armrest is a breeze. The cupholders wouldn't budge. It seems to be a simple lift up, but no luck.

Here's a guide (for Acura Music Link):
