We knew the 05s had some door handle probs. Many times after rains, car washes, the auto lock & auto entry on the handles wouldn't work. I've seen other oosts with similar problems.

BUT - last week the door handle disabled the car - no response to the key fob at all. Batteries in fob are new & tested good. Red lite blinks on fob. I took the key out of the fob, pried the cap off the ignition switch, inserted the key, and it said it didn't see the fob - and it would turn over but not fire.

Towed it to dealer who said it was the handles. Replaced them. We pick it up tomorrow.

Any similar experiences?

 

Sounds to me that your handles caused an electrical short. This is a known issue, unfortunatley.

Have to take mine in because the solenoid in the driver door doesn't work. Good thing I got an AcuraCare warranty.

 

yes - they replaced both front door handles, fortunately, under warranty.
