audio hiccup

Encountered strange problem yesterday. Was listening to XM and did not like the song, so started changing channels using presets. Switched between about 4 other channels, still nothing good, so switched to FM. Somewhere in the process of switching, the audio went totally silent. I tried Am, FM, XM and CD. No sound. Looked at volume and was at level 12. Tried all volume levels, still nothing. Turned audio power on/off, nothing.
Got to destination and after restarting car, everything back to normal. Is there some secret sequence of buttons that mutes the audio or was this some strange anomally?
