Question Another XM Question

Has anyone had to have their XM radio signal "refreshed"...repeatedly? I am now having trouble maintaining access to all of my XM stations. I have had to have the signal refreshed four times now. Anytime I restart the car, the XM radio is tuned to channel 001 and I can only access the few preview stations. If anyone can shed some light here I would really appreciate it.

It sure is disconcerting being the only one with this problem. Gonna have to tackle this one alone. I will certainly post what I find in case the problem crops up for others in the future. Stay tuned.

I would call XM or your dealer about that one. I've never had that issue.

uh. for mine, i had the tbs done on it, and i think the workers messed up my xm. but i remember what i did is that i went to the xm site, and had the signal downloaded onto the RL. you have to provide it with the radio code found on channel 0(or was that 001? i don't remember)... here's the link: http://www.xmradio.com/refresh/

i'm not sure if it's gonna work totally for your case because you said that it restarts everytime you start the car, and that you already refreshed it 4 times...

Didn't work for me. Actually had XM disconnect and reconnect the service, at their suggestion, and still nothing. A total of 15 "refreshes" in three days. At restart, the radio just doesn't want to receive any signal other than the preview stations. Taking the car to the dealer tomorrow to get this thing sorted out.

Boy, that's just almost got to be a receiver problem.

Let us know what you find out.

Exclamation Update

Update: Here's the latest. Took my car in to the Dealer this morning to address the XM radio problem that I've been having the last couple of days. Got it to the dealer and the radio (actually the XM part) went haywire! They believe the problem is a bad XM Control Unit, which they have ordered and which should be in tomorrow morning. With any luck at all, this should take care of it. I'll keep you posted.

On a positive note, you'll need to get your XM contract renewed. I had my XM unit replaced...they reset the service. In essence, got an extra 5 months of service.

Well, that's the only positive note so far! Turns out it wasn't the XM Control Unit after all. The problem persists even with the new unit installed. Well, I guess it's back to "head scratching" mode. The saga continues.
