AFS Question
AFS Question
When i start my car, AFS always checks itself to see if its functioning correctly. As a result, the right (passenger) side HID swivels to its maximum motion and returns back to normal.
When my car is stationary, and i turn the wheels to maximum position (on either side), i do not see HID swivel! This been attempted by keeping the car stationary but in Park as well as stationary but in Drive......
I see an 'AFS malfunction' message on the AcuraLink Diagnostic Message, however, the AFS malfunction indicator in MID (and the annoying 'i') is not displayed. This leads me to believe that the AFS seems to be functioning alright.
Can someone please explain if what i am observing is a figment of my imagination?

Are you sure you have them switched on? If they are off, they will not swivel and you will receive a "Check Adaptive Front Lighting System" message at startup.
If they are on, when stopped the lights do not swivel to the left to avoid the possiblity of having them pointing into oncoming traffic. They should swivel the the right when you turn the wheel. If they aren't and/or you are getting a malfunction message, you should get them checked.
