I bought an ipod adaptor system, the USA-spec one, about a year ago. for the past year I just left the unit back in my trunk and ran my 80GB Ipod classic off it.

I have been using Pandora a lot lately, and decided that rather than using the Ipod and being stuck with my itunes songs, I wanted to run Pandora in the car. so I am going to route the cable up to the front of the car and try to get it in the center console area.

there are what appear to be nice little access holes in the top portion (that has the dual flip up doors) and an access hole of some kind with a white plastic plug in it, in the bottom large cubby.... BUt... I'm not 100% sure how I want to get the cable from my trunk to the console.

right now, I have the cable routed through teh center pass throuhg in the back seat...but it's not clean at the moment. the wire is still exposed. I want to have the wire totally hidden.

my plan is to try and get it under the seats - and then along the edge of the car, perhaps under the plastic trim that lines the door sill... do those just pry up/off?

anyone have any experience routing that cable from the trunk to center console and have any advice?

i searched, found some threads on installing it, and some people talked about it, but no one had any pics or detailed advice on how they got the car apart.. or HOW they got he center cosole out, if indeed i have to take it out to get the wires up those access holes???

I am doing exactly the same USA Spec install. took back seat bottom out and loosened the seat back and got cable through wall just left of pass-through. I have read where others have run it under carpeting into console but floor carpet is pretty tight at tunnel. would like to see specifics on getting into the console.

 

I have not gone to the center console, but I have gone from the engine bay to the trunk with my amp wire through the firewall. There is a bunch of cables that run from the B pillar under the driver seat (and possibly the passenger seat too on the other side) towards the console. This would be my first route if I were to attempt it. With the back seat out and the rear bottom door sill off, you should be able to easily reach the cables going under the carpet and seat. It would then just be a matter of getting the cable from the seat to the console.
