Question 2006 RL Not Reading MP3 from iTunes

I generally buy the CDs for the music I want and like to have that "backup" media. I convert to MP3 for the MP3 player and for the RL and have not had problems playing the CDs containing the MP3 files. Recently though, I actually bought a song from iTunes but my RL will not play that song; it does not even see the song/file on the CD. Given that all the other songs on the same CD play without problems, I can only guess it is a DRM problem. Does that make sense? (I thought iTunes did not have DRM anymore?)

no DRM, but it's AAC. Does the RL play AAC files?

Yes of course, it's not even an MP3 file. RL does not play AAC; it plays MP3 and some WMA (not all) and only from CDs (not on DVDs). Thanks.

you can convert them to mp3 in itunes, i'd do it only for the songs you are going to use in the RL and not to your whole library, converting it will loose some quality, but at least you'll get to play them in the car. Then after you burn the mp3s you can delete them and keep that AAC....that or get an ipod or audio player that plays AAC.

Also i'd check out amazon's mp3 store...huge selection and ALL in mp3 format.

Thanks for the suggestions leftride. I have downloaded a little application that performed the conversion and was able to play the file in the car. I already have an iPod, the problem was playing the file in the RL (which is a bit outdated as far as handling various file types is concerned).
