'05 center console power outlet stiffness

Hi all, searched the threads and wasn't able to find anything on this issue.
The center console power switch next to the shifter is VERY hard to open or close. Dealer is telling me that he replaced the outlet and it just takes time to "break in". My comment to him was that the new cars on the showroom floor don't have this issue.
I think the real issue is that they would have to take apart the entire console to fix the switch and don't want to do that.
Anyone else have this problem or suggestions on what the issue could be?
BTW, this was picked up as a CPO and the sales mgr assured me this would be fixed.
thanks!

The cigarette power ports in the '05's were notorious for having some issues -- they would open "half way" and then need to be moved manually.

This was fixed in the '06's.

Fixing it shouldn't be a big deal....
