Wood steering wheel pieces

Not sure how it'll look and feel but has anyone actually used the wood pieces for your steering wheel? If so, does it even feel any different when driving? Thanks.

The MMC ('09-'12) wheel is the exact same except with 50% markup.

Is the size still the same or is the wood one a little bit smaller?

The size is the exact same. That's the end of the similarities. No one has ever complained about buying the aftermarket steering wheel.

If it ever comes up, tan = parchment.

Aftermarket = factory option ASpec wood wheel. MSRP is around $420. The MMC used the ASpec wheel as stock, but the MSRP went up to over $600 IIRC.

MMC = mid model change. '09-'12 KB2 RL.

Partchment is the official interior color for "tan" interiors. Gray is officially taupe, and black is officially ebony.

Sorry for any confusion.

The official name for the accessory wheel is "Acura RL wood-look sport steering wheel. The leather grip surfaces and "perforated look" makes it really sporty. I think it gives the RL that sport/luxury look which the RL technically is.

My ideal steering wheel for the RL would be the MMC dark wood option then I'd have the leather & airbag dyed black. Then I would have to spend another $800 to get the rest of the wood to match...

Is it more tacky than non-wood version? I think non-wood one is not sticky enough.

If anything the wood steering wheel makes the rl look more luxurious and slightly sporty to me compared to the stock one. I've found the a spec wood wheel like once but lost it but can't find the a spec shifter at all sigh lol but deff the wood trim pieces compliment the vehicle more for sure.

The RL wood shift knob is a rarity these days. They are out there, but they aren't easy to find.

Both are discontinued. If I had to guess, I would bet there are more black wheels out there than taupe or partchment.
