Wood grain Steering wheel.
Hello guys/gals,
I was wondering about the wood grain steering wheel for my 05 RL. I noticed that the wood doesn't quite match the wood grain of the interior the RL has across the door panels, etc... I was wondering what you guys thought about this? For those that have the wood grain steering installed, how do you like it in contrast with the wood grain that's already in our RLs?

I would do a search on this.
There have been numerous comments on the wood steering wheel and how it does not match, which would seem to be no surprise since every piece of wood is different, and of course, since the wood steering wheel is not real wood, but a facsimile. There are similar matching problems with the shift knob.
Most seem to like it nevertheless, some find it can get a little hot after sitting hours parked in the sun.

I have the faux wood steering wheel on my RL and like it a great deal. It adds some extra luxury to the look of the interior. Some people are very anal about everything matching so perfectly. To me it does match perfectly. I guess if you took the steering wheel off and set it against the real wood dash it would look slightly different- it has to- one is real wood and the other is fake! Even real wood comes in slightly different shades. BUT!!!!!!! The steering wheel is attached to the steering column which is a foot or so above the wood dash. If you look at the interior of the car it looks like it matches perfectly.
Those who complain about this are quite ridiculous. They're the same people who place an ear directly in front of a car speaker and say that the speakers don't sound good. That's not how we listen to music!!!!!!!! We listen to music from a listening position- sitting in one of the car seats in an upright position.
