Windshield Heat Deflector
Tim at Ray Laks Acura (www.hondaacuraworld.com) just laid in a stock of IntroTech heat shields. They are custom made for the RL, out aluminized mylar backed with closed cell foam. Rolls up with a velcro strap similar to the HeatShield from Canvas Works. Anyway, $32 + 3.95 S&H. He has about a dozen in stock.
I had asked him for one, and he said he would order one for me, then he said wait a couple of weeks, and he would lay in a stock of about a dozen. Anyway he just emailed me to say it was in. I have been using the Canvas Works Heat Shield for years in every car that I have owned since the 80's, and thought I would try the Introtech which is an equivalent design since Tim has been decent to me in pricing and never charging more than $3.95 an order, whether big or small.
Just thought I would let people know since the hot weather is here, and I believe they make a noticeable difference, especially since they are cut for the windshield and fit perfectly.

Not to mention that Tim is a site vendor and provides pretty good service. ![Thumbs Up](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/thumbsup.gif)
It's funny you mention a heat shield, I have been thinking of posting about whether there are Canvas Works shields for the RL--I used them on my two TLs and they were great. It's good to have another option.

FWIW, the sunshade is not up on the site because the only RL they have on the lot there belongs to Ray Laks, and he has not been in, so Tim cannot get a picture of the sunshade in the RL.
Call Tim at 888 RAY LAKS, and more than likely he will take your name down, tell you order an MDX sunshade, but ship out an RL sunshade.

I dunno, maybe it's just me, but I'd rather have a hot car than to futz with a dang sun shade. And I live in Texas, where it regularly gets over 100 degrees in the summer.
Once you get in, drop the windows for a second and get the A/C going, it takes only a few minutes to get the interior of the car habitable again. It seems like the only people I see using those things are blue hairs and soccer moms. (Not that there's anything wrong with that.

FWIW, I just received this product, and it fits great, and so far seems every bit as good as the Canvas Works products I have had for five different cars. I actually like the velcro strap a little better. More substantial, and therefore slightly easier to use.
Well, Mike, I guess you will have to call me a blue hair or soccer mom, because I use these all the time and firmly believe it does lower the temps about 40 degrees, and I have never had to worry about a cracked dash since, which is why I first got one years ago--although that is probably because the quality of materials has improved greatly over the years.
The real soccer mom in the family hardly uses the sunshades, however, too much trouble, so she agrees with you.
