Whine at 70MPH

I recently noticed this, I can hear the noise at 65MPH and it increases with speed. I had the propeller shaft replaced an year ago because of whine at 40-45MPH. I am still under warranty and wanted to get it fixed before it runs out.
I know there is another thread but it is really old, I wanted to see if any one has any experience with getting it fixed or any ideas on how I should ask the dealer.

Mark,
This is pretty much exactly the situation I had, after replacing the driveshaft, it remained. They put small microphones (

) all over the car and drove around and determined the transmission was the culprit.

~$3700 for a remanufactured transmission from Acura. Thankfully, I had recently purchased the vehicle and a portion of the dealers warranty covered it, AcuraCare covered everything else except $500 out of pocket.

I've read a couple of recent threads here about people losing their transmission, but from my understanding, this sound doesn't mean the transmission will go, and you'll probably be fine for many years to come.

Thanks for the suggestion Mitch. I have scheduled an appointment with the dealer on Monday. I will update the thread after that.

When mine had the issue they stated that it was the torque converter but it is mounted in the transmission so you need the whole thing. Mine was replaced free under extended warranty after a lot of effort taking area reps out for rides etc..

Db22, do you still have the paperwork from when you had yours fixed? The reason I ask is I am curious if they replaced the transmisson or just the torque converter. I very much doubt the noise in my transmission is the torque converter but I guess it is a possibility.

Thank you so much for the information. I talked to the dealer, took tech on a test drive and he could definitely hear it. I told him about the diagnosis on this thread and they are looking into it. I have not heard back any thing from them. i will update the thread once I hear back from them, hopefully next week.
