While I Was At The Dealer....

I saw an 05 RL w/20's with aftermarket chrome rims w/low profile tires in the showroom.

Wish I had my camera w/me. Would've posted pics. It was smokin'.

The pckg (tires/wheels) cost $4900 extra according to the sticker. Salesman (on the TQ) told me it only cost the dealer about $2,000.

not my cup o' tea, but i'm sure we'll eventually see something like this set floating on an RL around here soon.

IMHO, the 20's require the lowered suspension of the A-spec package. My vote goes with bkw - this look is not for me. Looks like it is more for "cruisin' the hood" than it is for driving friends to the golf course.

Those look decent from a size and fit perspective, but the design is way too blingy.

A simple chrome 5-spoke (or split 5-spoke) with a nice lip or even a 6-spoke with the same would be perfect.

Not a fan of chrome, and those look horrible on the RL.

Something in a gunmetal or "black chrome" would be better?

Still too flashy.
I'm more conservative and would stick to silver alloy rims.

Gunmetal, black, gold or chrome rims can look good on certain cars but not in the $50k RL class (and/or unless you want to fit certain stereotypes, and even then I generally don't find them to look good).

Actually, i'm anti-bling. I bought the black chrome rims off E-bay quite by accident (thought I was getting the gunmetals) but have been totally impressed by their subdued color. My only fear is scratching or curbing, as repairs are friggin expensive.

If none of the OEM rims meet your needs, check out some Ron Jon's. Like the color selections and they fit the RL spec (w/o spacers, etc.).
