When is the first time you are supposed to get service done on a new RL? Does it need an oil change after 1k miles? In general will the car let you know when its time for routine maintenance or is their a schedule I should follow etc? Thanks.

The car will let you know. Generally, first service is between 6000-7500 miles, depending on driving style and other factors.
